This page describes the Tracking Generator Mixer for the DIY Spectrum Analyzer.
Summary
The Tracking Generator Mixer is based around the SIM-83+ 2.3-8GHz Wideband Level 7 Balanced Mixer. The tracking generator mixer downconverts the 1st LO of 3.53-6GHz to a +10dBm 30MHz-2.5GHz output via a 3.5GHz LO. The PCB includes several amplifier stages to boost the LO and output power, matching pads on the mixer inputs/outputs, and a low-pass filter on the output.
